TO BENEFIT AREA AMBULANCE, FIRST AID AND EMERGENCY SQUADS

MORRIS AREA, NJ—Online registration is now open for the fourth annual Revolutionary Ramble Bicycle Tour on June 9, 2012.

Organized by volunteers from the Morris Area Freewheelers, one of NJ’s largest adult bicycle touring clubs, under the auspices of the Morris Area Freewheelers Foundation, The Revolutionary Ramble has become one of New Jersey’s premier bicycle tours and the only ride raising funds for multiple EMS squads and cycling education.

Riders who register before April 16 can do so at a discount—and receive the official Revolutionary Ramble t-shirt.

Bicyclists can choose from six different routes – from a family friendly 12-mile tour to a challenging Century (100 miles).  All highlight one of the nation's most scenic and historic areas. The Ramble offers tours for all abilities, ample rest stops, on-road support, a full lunch buffet in air-conditioned cafeteria after riding, and a Bike Expo with gear, massage and safety demonstrations.

The Revolutionary Ramble begins at Drew University, Madison, NJ and ends on the campus for the Expo and buffet lunch. The six scenic routes are filled with “historic surprises.” They include a 12-mile,  three-campus tour open to riders of all ages; a 25- or 35-mile tour through New Vernon and the Great Swamp; 50- and 65-mile tours through Jockey Hollow to Far Hills and Oldwick; and a new 100-mile ride to Round Valley.

The Morris Area Freewheelers Foundation (MAFF) is an all-volunteer group working to educate cyclists and motorists alike about their responsibilities through event rides, bike clinics, cooperative projects with local police departments and emergency squads, and other educational programs. MAFF is the charitable foundation extension of the Morris Area Freewheelers Bicycle Club, one of NJ’s largest. The Ramble’s title sponsor is Atlantic Health.  Other sponsors include B&G Foods, Cycle Craft, High Gear Cyclery, Marty’s Reliable Cycle, Planet Fitness, REI and Bikeland II.  The Ramble has allowed the Foundation to donate $48,000 to 20 different emergency squads in its first three years.
